Volunteers
"It has always been my belief in the scriptures that encourage and require
Christians to put their faith to work. When I reflect on the various challenges
we had to face and their successful outcome I firmly believed that we were on
God's mission. This was, and continues to be, most emphatically supported by
the testimonies we continually hear from residents who found a whole new outlook
on life because of their stay in our homes."
-- Rev. Bob Percival, "Father Daybreak"
Daybreak Volunteers Today
Some Daybreak volunteers have been caring and giving their time since the
beginning of the organization. This has provided a continuity of vision
and many shared memories. Some volunteers answered the call for a skill
for a specific project and have remained with the organization. Others
learned about Daybreak's work and simply enquired --- "what can I do to help?"
Regardless of when they joined or how they contribute, all Daybreak's
volunteers have shown a collective determination to work with the community
and government agencies toward the prevention of homelessness.
Daybreak welcomes new volunteers. They can be directly involved in empowering
Daybreak tenants to achieve their goals and potential. They can take part
in our collective belief that supporting tenants in a safe and caring
environment fosters personal growth.
