Fund Raising Activities
With financial support from all levels of government increasingly tight, Daybreak relies on a wide variety of other sources and fund-raising activities to bolster its budget. These include several church groups, charitable foundations (such as the Community Foundation of Ottawa and May Court Club of Canada) and service clubs (such as the Kiwanis Club of Bytown). Also, individuals and businesses can support Daybreak through supporting memberships ($25-$99), sustaining memberships ($100-$249) and benefactor memberships ($250 and up).
Recent fund raising activities have included concerts, a volleyball tournament and the sale of special sets of Ottawa winter-scene greeting cards by noted local artist Deborah Moore.
On Saturday May 6, 2006, a special fund-raising concert, United in Song, will be held at 7:30pm at St. Matthew's Anglican Church in the Glebe (217 First Avenue, Ottawa). It will feature performances by The Ottawa Regional Youth Choir, The Cantabile Women's Chorus of Kingston and The Cantabile Children's Choir of Kingston. Tickets are $15 each.
For more information on Daybreak's fund-raising events, call the Daybreak office at 613-236-8070, extension 225.
